What is Acid-Washed Activated Carbon?
DateTime:November 11, 2025 | FuZhang

Acid-washed activated carbon is a type of activated carbon that has been deeply cleaned and modified using inorganic acids, such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, or phosphoric acid.
This process removes ash, metallic impurities, and heavy metal ions from the carbon, while also reopening blocked micropores — significantly enhancing its adsorption capacity.

In simple terms, acid washing works like a “deep cleansing” for activated carbon, clearing its pores so it can “breathe” again and perform at its best.
